Mohit Chauhan is blessed with an amazing voice, which makes him such a special singer of his time. His husky voice is not just refreshing to listen, but also infuses life in a song.
One of the main reasons behind it is the fact that he is not just a great singer, but also a wonderful music composer. he started his career with his album Boondein (under the band name Silk Route). Most of his own composed songs are romantic ballads, and “Musafir” is my personal favorites out of them.
The type of command he has on his music, and voice, is commendable. And, Musafir is perfect example of that.

I personally feel that a “good” romantic song must have 3 basic qualities:

- Amazing vocals
- Meaningful, and fantastic, lyrics
And this romantic song by Mohit Chauhan scores A+ in all the above 3 departments. It is one of the finest composed songs I have heard, with some exceptional lyrics and vocals. Its a perfect long drive song, and is hugely under-rated.
People in India have a tendency of listening to songs filmed on their favorite movie stars, and that is why, a gem like “Musafir” hasn’t gotten its due. Take a bow “Mohit Chauhan” – the true Rockstar.
